Chriss

Chriss and her horse Bacchus love showing in virtual horse shows. The pair received 3rd place overall for the 2023 year in the National Open Horse Show Association, High Point champions in their division in the Spring 2022, Fall 2022 and Holiday 2022 Showmaster Horse Show series. Chriss and Bacchus also earned Champions of the Adult WT Division of the 2024 Elysian Fields Horse Show, and Grand Champions in the Open English, Senior English, and Halter divisions in Hartwig Farms Shows.
Chriss grew up riding at Fox Run Farm. During middle and high school, she was a member of the Lakeshire Pony Club and rode in fox hunts with the Shakerag Hunt Club as a guest hill topper. Chriss and Hooves and Heels co-creator and aunt, Geri, won first place in their team’s division in Shakerag Hunt Club’s annual Hunter Pace Show, a win they are both proud of to this day! While Chriss lived in New Orleans, she had the honor of riding the gentle giants of the Orleans Parish Sheriff Department’s mounted patrol unit, schooling the horses over jumping courses every weekend during her lessons at Equest Farm at New Orleans City Park. She is passing her love of horses on to her daughter Kennedy, who loves riding her mini horse Hamilton Beignet (Hami for short) and showing him in lead line classes, including Fox Run Farm’s Little Heels Horse Show!
Chriss is so excited to call Fox Hill at Fox Run Farm her forever home. In 2020, Chriss and her family packed their bags and moved from New Orleans (where they lived for 11 years) back to Fox Run Farm. To Chriss, it is the most magical place in the world and couldn’t imagine raising her daughter anywhere else! Chriss an award-winning tv news reporter and television host, currently filing reports for USA Today’s national morning show, Connecting America. Chriss worked in cities around the country before settling back in to the farm life. In addition to running Fox Run Farm Events (including the Hooves and Heels Challenge and Little Heels Horse Show), Chriss is also the creator of Mountains & Main a southern lifestyle platform featuring the best of North Georgia.

Lon now proudly works for Felipe’s Taqueria restaurant group based in New Orleans and travels to its markets in Louisiana, Florida and Maryland on a regular basis.
